Tournament Rules
THE TEAM
- No more than 4 players per team, with each player playing at least 50% of each game.
- 2 players may begin the game, but at least 3 players must be in the gym at the end of the game.
- Players may be added or deleted from the team until the last game of pool play unless a verified injury eliminates one or more players.
- All players under the age of 18 must have the Team Registration Roster signed by their parent or legal guardian
THE GAME
- A coin toss will determine which team gets the ball first.
- Games are 13 minutes with a running clock.
- Each team is allowed one 30 second timeout and will be taken with the clock running. Timeouts will not be allowed in the last minute of the game.
- On each inbound, the ball must be checked by a member of the opposing team.
- All possession turnovers must be cleared beyond the 3-point line before points can be scored.
- The 3-second rule applies when in the key and is called by the opposing team.
- There is no 3-point shot.
- Jewelry, bracelets, etc. are not allowed during game play.
- Substitutions may be made after each basket or dead ball.
- Each team will call their own fouls.
- On the fourth foul and thereafter, 2 foul shots and possession of the ball will be awarded.
- Flagrant or technical fouls may be assessed by a court official. The first will result in 6 minutes of bench time; the second will result in ejection from the tournament.
- In the event of a tie game at the end of regulation, the team with possession of the ball at the end of regulation will retain possession and the team that scores first, wins.
- Good sportsmanship is required!
THE TOURNAMENT
- Teams not on the court at game time will lose two points at the beginning of each minute of game time and will forfeit their game after 5 minutes. The winning team of a forfeited game will be awarded a final score of 10 to 0.
- Each team will be scheduled to play all other teams in their division.
- The two top teams in each division will play for the championship.
- In the event of a tie, the points scored during regular play will be totaled and points scored by their opponents will be deducted and the team with the most total points will proceed to the championship game. In the event of a tie using this formula, a coin toss will determine the team to proceed to the championship game.
- Prizes will be given to the top 2 teams from each division.
Rules are subject to change as deemed necessary.
If you register online all team member signatures will be required for the team roster and agreement before the contest begins. If under the age of 18 a parental or guardian signature is required.
AGREEMENT
By signing the agreement, I am stating that I or my child is in good health and has my permission to play, and that Riverdale City is not liable for any accidents while participating in the 3-on-3 tournament. Upon request, identification may be required for verification.

Girls 12-15 (G1)
Girls 16-18 (G2)
