Gary’s Life Story
Gary Griffiths came from a modest background. His father worked the nightshift at Kennecott Copper and had a farm. They had two milk cows, three pigs, and a barn full of chickens. Gary’s family supplied local grocery stores full of produce. He learned the importance of hard work and enjoying the yields of his labor. He received his Eagle with four palms. Serving a mission for the LDS church in Illinois, he was called as “Mission Specialist,” creating unique and creative ways to serve the people. Gary graduated in Conflict Resolution from the Communications Department at Brigham Young University with a B.A. He has served two terms on the Riverdale City Council.
Gary was introduced to Marian and her three children; it was love at first sight. They had two children together. Gary and Marian are very compatible; they both love to be involved. Marian has been PTA President and loves to volunteer. Gary and Marian loved being over the food for the Riverdale Stake Handcart Trek, it was a highlight in their lives.
Gary has served as a Scoutmaster, Ward Bishopric, High Council, and Cub Scout Den Leader. He has also served as Riverdale Emergency Preparedness Coordinator for the Riverdale Stake.
During the 2002 Winter Olympics Gary played a critical role as one of the managers over the Public Services Emergency Operations Center.
Gary is known for thinking outside the box and is constantly thinking of ways to improve the process of maintaining City services.

Open and transparent government is a basic democratic right.
Riverdale Road “The Golden Mile”, is key to keeping taxes low; attracting business.
