RIVERDALE CITY ENACTS ADDITIONAL FIREWORK RESTRICTIONS FOR THE PIONEER DAY HOLIDAY
RIVERDALE, July 10, 2012 - Ahead of the July 24th Pioneer Day holiday, Riverdale City has enacted additional fireworks restrictions in high risk fire areas within the city. In addition to previous restricted areas along the east bench and Weber River corridor, the area along the southwest bench has been added as an area where fireworks are prohibited.
This includes the area between South Weber Drive and the Davis-Weber Canal on the cities south border and heading north along the west bench area to Ritter Drive. A link to a map detailing the fireworks restricted areas within Riverdale City is below.
The restrictions have been put in place due to the extreme dry conditions, a buildup of combustible vegetation, and hot temperatures. The restrictions go into effect immediately.
In addition to the fireworks restriction there will be no open fires, no open flames, and no use of cigarettes allowed along the Weber River corridor. This restriction will remain in effect until October 31, 2012.

JUNE 29, 2012
By order of the Riverdale City Fire Department, firework restrictions are now in place in high fire risk areas within the city. This area includes all land east of the Weber River on the south end of the city and extending north to include all areas east of 700 West to the River Glen subdivision. In conjunction with Washington Terrace, the restrictions include the east bench area of both cities going north to the 300 West and Riverdale Road intersection.
In addition to the fireworks restriction there will be no open fires, no open flames, and no cigarettes allowed along the Weber River corridor.
The restrictions have been put in place due to the dry conditions and hotter temperatures which is causing the vegetation along the river corridor to dry out and die. The restrictions take place immediately and will continue to be in effect until October 31, 2012.
