NEW COMMUNITY CENTER TEXTING SERVICE
Our Community Center has added a text message function to our phone system. The options currently available are:

  • Open Court: text “Open Court” to 801-621-6084 to receive updates and information about basketball open play.
  • Pickleball: text “Pickleball” to 801-621-6084 to receive updates and information about Pickleball open play.

 YOUTH CO-ED FLAG FOOTBALL
Co-ed flag football registration will begin July 1st and close after July 31st for boys and girls 1st - 9th grades. The cost is $25 per child for Riverdale and Washington Terrace residents. Anyone interested in registering after July 31st will be placed on a waiting list and a $10 late fee will be applied if registered. If participants have a jersey from a previous year, they do not need to purchase a new jersey. Otherwise, jerseys can be purchased for $10 at time of registration. Grade divisions are:1st/2nd, 3rd/4th, 5th/6th, 7th-9th. Register online at www.riverdalecity.com or at the Community Center. For more information call 801-621-6084. Games will be played at Riverdale Park starting in September.

YOUTH CO-ED SOCCER FALL/SPRING FORMAT
Co-ed soccer registration will begin July 1st and close after July 31st for boys and girls ages Pre-K - 2nd grade. The cost is $45 per child for Riverdale residents.  Participants must be four years old by August 1st. Anyone interested in registering after July 31st will be placed on a waiting list and a $10 late fee will be applied if registered. There will be two sessions with one in the Fall and one in the Spring. Players will play with the same coach and team for both sessions. Grade divisions are Pre-K, Kinder, 1st grade, and 2nd grade. Register online at www.riverdalecity.com or at the Community Center. For more information call 801-621-6084. Games will be played at Riverdale Park starting in late August.

NOTE: For 1st and 2nd graders, Flag Football games will be played on Mon/Wed and Soccer will be played on Tues/Thurs. This should enable participants to play both sports without games overlapping. *Subject to change based on registration numbers.

Volunteer coaches are always needed. You may sign up to coach when you register your youth. A background check is required for all volunteer coaches.

SUMMER ACTIVITIES REGISTRATIONS
With summer just around the corner, registrations for Summer Fun, Archery, Tennis, and Track Camp have began. Registration is available at the Community Center or at the link below.

SUMMER FUN
If you have kids going into the 3rd - 6th grades next school year, sign them up for Summer Fun Days featuring sports, games, crafts, and much more. The program runs from May 29th to July 11th. Sessions will be held on Mondays and Wednesdays at the Riverdale Park, and Tuesdays and Thursdays at Golden Spike Park. Kids can only participate in one session/location.  There is a max of 40 kids per session. The cost is $25 for residents and $50 for non-residents.

ARCHERY
Archery classes will be taught at various class days and times beginning June 3rd. This is for ages 7-15 with a max of 10 participants per session. The cost is $30 for residents and $50 for non-residents.

TRACK
Our kids track program will run from June 3rd - August 9th at Riverdale Park.  This is for ages 4 to 12 years old. There is a max of 75 participants. The cost is $5 for residents and $10 for non-residents.

TENNIS
Tennis lessons will be taught for kids ages 5-12 from July 15th - 25th at the Riverdale Park. There is a max of 8 participants per age group. The cost is $25 for residents and $50 for non-residents.

INTRAMURALS
Our volleyball intramurals begin May 29th. The following ages will play on Mondays and Wednesdays at the Community Center at the following times :

- Ages 8-9 at 9:00 a.m.  
- Ages 10-12 at 10:00 a.m.
- Ages 13-18 at 11:00 a.m.

Volleyball skills and rules will be taught along with game play. The cost for the six week activity is $5.00 for residents and $10.00 for non-residents. Sign-ups begin May 6th online at www.riverdalecity.com or at the Community Center.

GROUP FITNESS CLASSES
Our current group fitness classes runs from April 22nd – May 31st. You can register online below or at the Community Center. For more information call 801-621-6084. PLEASE PRE-REGISTER FOR OUR NEW GROUP FITNESS CLASSES.  CLASSES WILL ONLY BE PROVIDED BASED ON PRE-REGISTRATION INTEREST.

YOUTH TACKLE FOOTBALL
Washington Terrace offers WFFL Youth Tackle Football for ages 7-13. Riverdale residents are welcome to join with them. Registrations must take place on the Washington Terrace website at www.washingtonterracecity.com or call 801-395-8293 for more information.

NEW GAME ROOM
The Community center is pleased to announce that we have added a new game room to the facility. The former Executive Room was an underutilized space and is now being used as a game room. The room offers foosball, air hockey, and ping pong. The game room is included with the entrance fee ($1 for residents, $2 for non-residents). To view a flyer click here.

OPEN COURT BASKETBALL
The Community Center has made a change to the afternoon and evening open court basketball time. When the courts are available, the east side of the gym will now be available for team play, while the west side will be reserved for individual players. ROY COMPLEX DISCOUNT OFFER
As a benefit to residents, the city will pay half of the cost of a discounted non-resident pass to the Roy Complex. The passes can only be purchased at the Riverdale Community Center, 4360 Parker Drive. For questions call 801-621-6084 or click here.

TENNIS COURTS INCLUDE PICKLEBALL
The tennis courts in Riverdale Park were resurfaced and now include lines for pickleball. Pickleball is a fast growing sport that is a cross between badminton and tennis. The courts are open to the public for tennis and pickleball during park hours and are available on a first come first serve basis. (Courts may be closed during the winter months.)
