VOLUNTEERS RECOGNIZED
We just celebrated National Volunteer Week. We would like to thank all of the volunteers that make our center successful. A volunteer pin was given to each volunteer and their picture taken and put up on the volunteer board for everyone to see.
Volunteers: You're special to us because of all you do. Your care and dedication always come through. Thanks for your efforts and helpful ways. Please accept our appreciation and heartfelt praise. "Thanks for all you do!"
SENIOR OF THE MONTH
Eva Jensen, a resident of the senior housing, has been selected May Senior of the Month. She volunteers once a week as a receptionist at the front desk, and helps the other senior residents as much as possible. She is an avid golfer, enjoys playing cards and helps decorate the tables in the dining area. Congratulations and thanks Eva for a job well done!
MEDICAL INFORMATION DEVICE OFFERED
The Senior Center is offering an emergency personal medical information device for senior citizens and Riverdale residents. The device is a flash drive that contains a medical information template to record information to share with medical professionals in an emergency. The cost is $10.00 each. Call 621-6086 to place your order.
FOOT CLINIC OFFERED AT SENIOR CENTER
The Foot Clinic is offered the 2nd Tuesday of the month at 12:30 pm by Registered Nurses from Health Watch and Caring Hands. Cost: $5.00 per person. The nurses soak your feet, clip your toenails, massage your feet and look for foot disorders. Did you know that certain foot disorders often are early signs of diabetes? Patients with diabetes sometimes suffer from sores that don't heal, numbness, weakness, burning or coldness, blisters, dry skin, itching and other disorders of the feet. If left untreated, these patients are at risk of infection and other severe foot problems.
