RUNNING FOR ELECTED OFFICE
MUNICIPAL ELECTIONS
The following offices will be available for the 2007 Election:

Those interested in running for City Council need to fill out a Declaration of Candidacy form and submit it to the City Recorders Office from July 1, 2007 to 5:00 p.m. July 16, 2007.

Declarations of Candidacy qualifications are (Per UCA 20A-9-203):
(1) be a United States citizen at the time of filing;
(2) be at least 18 years old at the time of the next municipal election;
(3) be a resident of Riverdale City or a resident of an area recently annexed into Riverdale City for a period of 365 consecutive days immediately preceding the date of the election;
(4) be a registered voter of Riverdale City;
(5) Pursuant to Utah Constitution Article IV, Section 6, any mentally incompetent person, any person convicted of a felony, or any person convicted of treason or a crime against the elective franchise may not hold office in this state until the right to vote or hold elective office is restored as provided by statute.

In order to register in Weber County, you must contact the Office
of the Weber County Clerk, 2380 Washington Blvd., Ogden, UT.
Their telephone number is (801) 399-8400. Office Hours are Monday thru Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
To vote, a citizen must be a registered
voter. To register to vote in
Utah, you must:

Be a US Citizen;
·
Be a resident of Utah (primary residence) for 30 days immediately
before the next election; and
·
Be at least 18 years of age on or before the next election.
