AFFECTED PROPERTY OWNERS UPDATE

The primary responsibilities of Riverdale City in responding to this disaster have been to provide for public safety, to restore municipal services – water, sewer, storm sewer, roadways – to the affected area, and to provide for occupancy of homes. Substantial progress has been made in these areas.

Riverdale City recognizes that homeowners still have considerable work to perform in restoring their properties. The City would now anticipate that homeowners will direct the activity and pace of their individual restoration efforts, using available options and resources that have been offered by volunteers and other charitable entities, resource lists compiled and provided to homeowners by the City, and those resources generously provided by the Swanson Family Foundation. The Swanson Family Foundation will continue to be on-site to assist homeowners until Monday, July 26. Equipment and supplies (generators, pumps, power brooms, fans, shovels, wheelbarrows, etc.) borrowed from the Swanson Family Foundation (the trailer at Coleman’s field) needs to be returned by Monday, July 26.

Riverdale City officials continue to work with state and federal officials to determine what assistance will be available to residents in recovering from this disaster. As soon as the information is available, it will be passed along to you.

The City will continue to provide three large dumpsters in the disaster area from Monday, July 26, through Saturday morning, July 31. They will be located as follows:

Coleman field – corner of Ritter Drive and 1250 West

South end of 1150 West

5100 South 1200 West

Please place personal debris in the dumpsters, not in the park strip.

Dirt, sand, and mud being removed from private property must be moved to the street by Monday, July 26, for removal by City equipment and crews. To prevent unnecessarily dusty street conditions, the City will then be sweeping and washing down the streets.

Due to the holiday weekend, and the intense efforts of our small City staff, the City will be observing the Pioneer Day holiday. The offices will be closed Friday, July 23, through Sunday, July 25. Regular office hours will resume on Monday, July 26, at 8:00 a.m.

PHOTOGRAPHS, VIDEOS, ETC.

Riverdale City would like to obtain copies of photographs and videos in the disaster area. This would include pictures of the actual flooding as well as the progress of the cleanup efforts. Please contact City Recorder Glenna Stump at 394-5541 ext. 232 or by e-mail at gstump@riverdale.state.ut.us Thank you.
