IMPORTANT!!! Information and "question & answer" meeting today, 4:00 p.m., Riverdale Community Center, 4360 S. Parker Drive. Please attend!! Riverdale City continues to assist the Davis-Weber Canal Company in its clean-up efforts following a breech in the canal that occurred Sunday, July 11, at approximately 12:15 p.m. Property owners, please register with the Red Cross at 627-0000. Public works personnel are working to clear mud and water from City streets as quickly as possible. Inspectors are working to inspect homes in order to allow citizens access for clean-up efforts. Volunteer assistance for clean-up is available. Drinking water is safe. Other water usage is permitted as well. For other information, call 394-6616. VOLUNTEER UPDATE Wednesday July 14 Volunteer assistance is needed at this time to assist in clean-up efforts. Able-bodied persons age 16 and over with gloves, wheelbarrows, shovels, and heavy metal rakes, please report to the volunteer check-in site at approximately 5386 South 1050 West (in front of Motor Vu Drive-In). At this time, there is not a need for donated food (boxed and canned goods) or donated clothing. Donations of prepared foods, crushed ice, cold bottled water and other cold canned or bottled beverages for clean-up workers continue to be appreciated. AFFECTED PROPERTY OWNERS UPDATE Wednesday July 14
Affected property owners only (those cleaning up damage to their own property), Teddy Bear Daycare at 3953 Pacific Avenue has offered to donate child care during daytime hours for clean-up efforts. Please contact Nicole at 621-0665. Affected property owners only (those cleaning up damage to their own property), Saturn of Riverdale at 5212 South Freeway Park Drive has offered to provide temporary transportation (loaner vehicles) to those without transportation due to this incident. Also, they have offered the use of their wash bay and high pressure cleaning equipment to clean mud and dirt from vehicles damaged in the flood. Contact Mike or Dennis at 773-3500.
