2013 Event Information
We are looking for volunteers to help with some of our events. For more information call the Community Center at 801-621-6084.
Sports Tournaments
Co-ed Volleyball Tournament
The volleyball tournament is set for June 28th & 29th. The tournament will be at the Community Center for those ages 16 and older. Friends and Family Recreational League will be on June 28th and begins at 6:00 p.m. & Competitive League will be on June 29th and begins at 2:00 p.m. No charge.

Golf Tournament
Our annual Golf Tournament will be June 30th thru July 4th (Sun thru Wed) at Schneiter's Riverside Golf Course. This will be a four person scramble. The fee is $38.00 for 18 holes. Reserve your tee time by calling Schneiter's Golf at 801-399-4636.
3 on 3 Basketball Tournament
Hoop it up at the Community Center on Wednesday, July 3rd. There are a variety of categories for youth, men, and women. Four player limit per team, eight teams per category. Pre-registration required. Play begins at 5:00 p.m. No charge!

Baby Contest
If you have little ones, enter them in our annual Baby Contest on Saturday, Juue 29th! There will be two age groups and judging times - 6 to 13 months at 10:00 a.m. & 14 to 24 months at 11:00 a.m. Participation is free. Open to Riverdale children only (non-residents and businesses not eligible).

Movie in the Park
Bring the family to watch a movie in the park on Wedesday, July 3rd. It will be held in the south end, lower area of Riverdale Park. The event is free. The show starts at dusk.

Sunrise
Service
Start the day off right by attending our annual Sunrise Service and Flag Raising Ceremony in Riverdale Park at the amphitheater at 7:00 a.m.
Lions Club Breakfast
The most important meal of the day! From 7:30 to 9:30 a.m. the Lions Club will hold their annual fundraiser breakfast at the Riverdale Park north bowery. All proceeds go to charity.
5K Run/Walk
Get your exercise in early by joining the 5K Run/Walk at the Red Church parking lot, 1000 West 4400 South. Check in begins at 6:30 a.m. with the Walk starting at 7:15 a.m. and the Run starting at 7:30 a.m. The cost is $5.00 for all participants. T-shirts given to all who register. Participants must pre-register at the Community Center.
NO registrations will be allowed the day of the race!

Old Glory Days Parade
Bicycle Decorating Event:
Children can come decorate their bicycle the day before the parade on Wednesday, July 3rd at 6:00 p.m. at the Riverdale Elementary School far east parking lot.
The 'Pedals & Paws' Children's Parade will begin at 9:00 a.m. Children are invited to ride a bike or walk a pet in the Riverdale Pedals & Paws Parade. Participants will gather at the corner of 700 West and 4400 South at 8:30 am. All pets must remain on a leash and be walked by a responsible person. Children 8 years and under must be accompanied by an adult. Please make arrangements to meet with your child immediately following the parade. Call 801-621-6084 for questions. No registration is needed to participate in the Children's Parade.
The Old Glory Days Parade begins at 9:30 a.m. The parade route will run west along 4400 South starting at 700 West going to Parker Drive and then north to Riverdale park. Please keep children to the sides away from entries.

Riverdale Park Festivities

Booths / Concessions
At 11:00 a.m. the booths and concessions will be open offering games, food, and fun. Bring the family and enjoy the day.
Kids Games
Free children's games for ages 11 and under will be held in the upper park area from 11:00 a.m. to noon. There will be prizes and fun for all!
Entertainment, Games, and Contest
Entertainment, games, and contest has been lined up from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the amphitheater.
Pinewood Derby
New this year is a Pinewood Derby Event! The event will take place at noon at the Community Center. There will be three divisions: Traditional, Open, and Blastcar. The competition is open to everyone, so start working on your cars today!

Fireworks Extravaganza
The perfect way to end a day of celebration! The city will set the night sky on fire with our annual fireworks display. The show will begin at dusk. Come early to enjoy some music before the show and to get a good spot!
