The Riverdale City Community Development Department is made up of Place Makers, dedicated to fostering a thriving, sustainable, and prosperous community through strategic planning, economic development, and neighborhood enhancement initiatives. Our mission is to enhance the quality of life for residents, businesses, and visitors by promoting smart growth, responsible land use, and vibrant public spaces.

Key Responsibilities

• Urban Planning & Zoning – Overseeing land use policies, zoning regulations, and long-term city planning to ensure balanced growth.
• Economic Development – Supporting local businesses, attracting new investments, and encouraging job creation to boost the City's economy.
• Housing & Neighborhood Revitalization – Developing programs to improve housing options, promote affordable housing, and enhance community livability.
• Building Code Enforcement – Ensuring that all construction and property maintenance meet applicable codes and safety standards.
• Sustainability & Infrastructure – Implementing smart growth initiatives, helping to improve public infrastructure, and fostering environmental responsibility.
