The Riverdale Senior Center is a place that seniors can gather, share old friendships as well as make new ones. The center offers a variety of activities and classes. We are here to strengthen and help seniors have a good life and hopefully touch each senior's life for good.
Lunch is cooked onsite and served each weekday at noon for only $3.00 a meal.
Take out lunches are available after all patrons who are eating in the
dining room have been served.

NEWS AND HIGHLIGHTS
FREE TAX HELP OFFERED FOR SENIORS
The AARP is once again offering free tax help for seniors at the Senior Center. Appointments are available on Thursdays only, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. beginning on February 14th and going until April. Early sign up is encouraged as appointment times are limited. To participate, seniors must sign up in advance at the Senior Center.
VALENTINE’S DAY DANCE
Join us at the Senior Center on February 14th for a Valentine’s Day dance as part of our lunch hour at 12:00 p.m.
SENIOR CENTER TO BE CLOSED FOR HOLIDAY
The Senior Center will be closed for the President’s Day holiday on Monday, February 18, 2019.
SENIOR OF THE MONTH
Our “Senior of the Month” is Gerry DeCock. Gerry was born in Tilburg, Nederland. She immigrated to the U.S in 1959 on her birthday. She married Adrian DeCock 2 years later. She has been married for 57 years. They have raised one son, Nico. She worked at Utah Tailoring Mills in the 1960’s. She enjoyed making clothes for movie stars like Marilyn Monroe and others. She also has a degree in interior design from Weber State. She volunteered at St. Benedict’s Hospital and now volunteers at the HAFB Thrift shop and the Lantern House.
STAY FIT, EXERCISE AT THE SENIOR CENTER
The following free exercise classes are offered at the Senior Center:
- Tai Chi is held on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 8:50 a.m.
- Enhance Fitness is held on Mondays, Wednesdays at 10:00 a.m.
- Senior Aerobics is held on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 8:00 a.m.
- Yoga is held on Tuesdays and Fridays at 9:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m.
In addition to the classes, there is also an exercise room open during Senior Center hours with a variety of equipment to help you stay fit.
Senior Center will have a person in the computer room ready to give help and answer questions about computers every Tuesday at 1:00 p.m. Stop by and get the computer help you need!
The Senior Center Book Club meets on the first Tuesday of each month at 1:00 p.m. Come join us! It will be a great time!
Enjoy a movie and fresh popcorn on February 28 at 9:45 a.m. and 12:45 p.m.
FOOT CLINIC SCHEDULE
The Foot Clinic day is the second Thursday of every month at 9:30 a.m. The location has also been moved to the ceramics room. The cost for the clinic is $10.00.
SENIOR CENTER SCRAPBOOKING
An "on your own" scrapbooking group has been organized. It will meet on the second and fourth Thursday's of the month at 10:30 a.m. Come and join our group of scrapbookers.
Come play the Nintendo Wii at the Center. You can play tennis, golf, bowling, baseball, and boxing. We also have the Wii Fit!

The Senior Center is in need of yarn donations for humanitarian projects.
SENIOR CENTER LIBRARY
The Riverdale Senior Center has a wonderful library for seniors to use. The library has a variety of books along with a collection of VHS and DVD movies. Seniors are welcome to come and check out any library item. Come check it out!
Donations Sought: We are in need of DVD's. If you have any DVD's you no longer want, please consider donating them and help us replenish our library.
SENIOR CENTER VOLUNTEERS
Volunteers are always welcome to help out at the Senior Center. There are a variety of volunteer opportunities such as class instructors, front desk help, support help, and humanitarian work. If you would like to volunteer please contact the Senior Center at 801-621-6086.

Seeing all the materials around her, Linda Phaff decided to make an "Everyday quilt". The everyday quilt is made out of material scraps from many different patterns. It is a beautiful "Magic Quilt!"
