The Heavy Rescue Team is there for those circumstances that require an expertise outside of the normal firefighter skill set. Riverdale Fire Department hosts nine of the thirty-three Heavy Rescue Technicians in Weber County. Heavy Rescue 41 is the only unit in Weber County, which responds fully stocked with the tools and equipment to support rescue operations. Heavy Rescue 41 is also a Regional resource for all of Weber and Davis County. Most of the equipment that is carried on this unit has been funded through Regional Urban Search and Rescue funding.
