Karina Merrill has a love for this community and wishes to see it continue to be a desirable place to live and raise a family. The Merrill’s have absolutely loved living in Riverdale and raising their son, as well as helping to raise Jared’s three daughters. They thoroughly enjoy frequenting all of the lovely parks, open play areas, rivers and pools available to them throughout Riverdale. Karina looks forward to being a part of the planning and preparing for the challenges that her community currently faces and will continue to face with such rapid growth happening in Utah.
Karina’s perspective as a small business owner makes her uniquely qualified to make decisions related to smart growth, economic development and limiting government overreach.
Karina believes we are all more alike than different, and that any differences we may have can be helpful in finding ways to work together, to find solutions for the betterment of our community, state and country.
Karina has successfully earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Sociology/Criminology, Interpersonal Communication and work in Marriage and Family Therapy. She has been involved in student councils, as well as community involvement projects, since she was in high school. She is also a proud volunteer and supporter of Operation Underground Railroad and participates in National and local efforts to end the modern day slavery of children.
