CITY COUNCIL MEMBER APPOINTED
During the January 16, 2024 City Council meeting, Stacey Haws was selected by following the process under Utah Sate code to fill a vacancy on the City Council. The vacancy occurred when Councilor Steve Hilton passed away unexpectedly.
Councilor Haws took the oath of office during the meeting and will serve for a two year term. We appreciate all of those who applied and interviewed for the open seat.

ELECTION DATES CHANGED
The Utah State Legislature passed a bill that changes the state's municipal primary and general election dates this fall to accommodate a special election to fill the seat of resigning Rep. Chris Stewart. The change moves the general election date to November 21, 2023.

The 2023 Municipal General Election will be held on Tuesday, November 21, 2023. Ballots will be mailed out to eligible voters, starting on October 31. Voters must be of legal voting age, citizens of the United States, and reside in the precinct in which they are registered.
Voters can verify registration status, and view a sample ballot online at www.vote.utah.gov. Registered voters who do not receive their ballot by November 6 should contact the Weber Elections Office.
The voter registration deadline to receive a ballot in the mail is November 13 at 5:00pm.
In person voting will be held at the Weber Center (2380 Washington Blvd) November 14, 15, 16 and 17 from 12:00pm to 6:00pm.
On Election Day at the Weber Center and Ogden Valley Library (131 S 7400 E, Huntsville) on November 21, from 7:00am to 8:00pm.
Ballot Drop Boxes are conveniently located at every city office, county library, in the Weber Center parking lot and on campus at Weber State University. Drop boxes are open 24 hours a day and until 8 pm on Election Day. More information is available on our website at www.weberelections.gov or on www.vote.utah.gov.
A public demonstration will be held on October 17 at 11:00am to test the voting system that will be used for the Municipal General Election. A Post-Election Audit of the Municipal General Election will be held on November 28 at 12:15pm, both of these will be held at the Weber Center, 2380 Washington Blvd., Ogden.
