- Born in Salt Lake City, Utah
- Raised in Clearfield, Utah
- Graduated from Davis High School, Kaysville, Utah
- Enlisted United States Navy Seabees in July 1966
- Served the year 1967 on Adak Island in the Aleutian Islands
- Served the year 1968 at Dong Ha Forward Combat Base in Vietnam
- Joined the Air Force Reserve at Hill Air Force Base in 1972 with what is now the 419th Fighter Wing. Worked full-time for the 419th as an Air Reserve Technician (ART) for nearly 30 years
- Deployed to many locations worldwide during the Cold War and after, with the F-105 Thunderchief and the F-16 Fighting Falcon
- Deployed to Southwest Asia, twice, in Support of Operation Northern Watch with F-16s, bombing targets in Iraq
- Retired in 2001, with nearly 35 years of Military Service. Served the last 15 years at the rank of Chief Master Sergeant
- Served many years as a Boy Scout Leader and leader of young men and young women’s organizations. Recipient of the Boy Scouts of America Silver Beaver Award
- Married to Sharon Bailey, for 48 years, with 25 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren
- Resident of Riverdale City for 50 years.
- Served as a member of the Riverdale City Planning Commission, Riverdale City Council and was elected 7 years ago as Riverdale’s Mayor
